About us

MSI Reproductive Choices has registered and is distributing Misoclear through a variety of channels and outlets.

MSI Reproductive Choices has been delivering contraception, safe abortion and mother and baby care for over thirty years and have offices and operations in 37 countries around the world.

Millions of women trust us to provide them with quality family planning and reproductive healthcare.

The team at MSI Reproductive Choices is always finding innovative new ways of working so that we can best serve our clients, who are at the centre of everything we do. We build partnerships with both governments and non-state providers so that underserved women and men in rural areas and urban slums have a greater choice when it comes to family planning and their sexual and reproductive health. Through our work, MSI Reproductive Choices prevents unnecessary deaths and makes a sustainable impact on the lives of millions of people every year.

We have more than 600 centres around the world, with services for both men and women. Our clinical outreach teams work in approximately 30,000 difficult to reach locations. We work with over 2,900 private doctors, midwives, pharmacies and nurses.

In 2017, 27 million women used a method of contraception provided by MSI Reproductive Choices. We prevented 5.3 million unsafe abortions and saved the lives of more than 24,000 women.

MSI Reproductive Choices works to prevent and treat the 2 leading causes of maternal mortality & morbidity:

Post-partum haemorrhage (PPH)

This excessive heavy bleeding after the baby has been delivered is often caused by a retained placenta or the failure of the uterus to contract after labour. It is not predictable, though it more frequently occurs among women who deliver on their own (without skilled attendants). Globally PPH is responsible for 34% of all maternal mortality.

Incomplete abortion (post abortion care / PAC)

Complications from incomplete abortion are the 2nd leading cause of maternal mortality. One in 10 pregnancies end in abortion and over 47,000 women a year die from unsafe abortions. Because abortion is restricted in most countries, women tend to resort to unsafe methods of terminating their pregnancies. Half of abortions in the world are unsafe. This figure is higher in many regions, for example 97% of all abortions in Africa, 95% of all abortions in Latin America and the Caribbean and 63% abortions in Asia are unsafe.
